Enough to make Frank Sinatra sing again.
New York City FC qualified for the first time in its history in the MLS final by winning the Eastern Conference of the championship this Sunday, beating the Philadelphia Union (2-1). Note that no less than eleven players were missing on the Phila side because of the Covid. Led just past the hour mark, NYCFC equalized two minutes later before a late goal from Talles Magno in the 88e minute does send the affiliate club Manchester City to seventh heaven.

In the final, the Pigeons (yes, that’s one of the club’s nicknames) will face Portland, Real Salt Lake’s 2-0 drop in the Western Conference final the day before. The Timbers won MLS in 2015, the year New York City FC joined the American League. The two teams have an appointment on December 11 for this unprecedented MLS final.
Like what, it is not only Red Bull which gives wings to New York.
