The latest Porsche can only be driven virtually – Car-Engine

Porsche has been an official partner of the Gran Turismo simulator program developed by Polyphony Digital since 2017, but until now only cars that existed in reality could be chosen in the virtual space. Next spring, on March 22, the Gran Turismo 7 program will be released, for which the Germans have now made a dedicated car called the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo.

Employees of the design department led by Michael Mauer were thrilled that this time they had to make a car that was not tied to the limitations of series production – the requirements of the legal regulations, the technical department – but was free to go through their ideas. In the cabin, carbon and titanium are dominant, the upholstery is vegan, and the instrument cluster is a bent plastic sheet on which holograms display the information.

The body is, of course, wide and flat, the nose is low, the aisles are strongly emphasized, the lights are minimalist and the vents are dominant. The lights refer to the Taycan, just as the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo is battery-powered; exact figures for neither the drive nor the driving characteristics have yet been revealed.
