After counting the votes of journalists from European countries, or more precisely – those associated with UEFA, Lewandowski scored the most points in this group – 206. Jorginho scored 166, and Messi – 161. These three dominated the voting in Europe.
52 journalists from UEFA member countries cast their votes. There were no representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Gibraltar. In total, 19 players were cast in the European vote.
Lewandowski was named in the first place by 22 journalists. Interestingly, the Polish voters from Belgium, Greece, Liechtenstein, Kazakhstan and North Macedonia were not taken into account at all. Jorginho and Messi came in first in 11 times. Three journalists chose Kante as the best, two Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, one – De Bruyne.
