Two people were killed and another injured after multiple crashes occurred overnight on Interstate 30 in Fort Worth and Dallas.
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, officers responded to an oncoming accident in the westbound lanes of I-30 near the I-35W merge at approximately 2:30 a.m.
Police said a person involved in the accident was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual was in critical condition and a rescue occurred as a result of the accident.
The freeway was closed, forcing I-30 traffic onto the I-35W SB ramp. The ramps from I-35W to I-30 were also closed.
Police said the investigation into this accident is ongoing.
Five people were killed in three separate vehicle accidents.
Another fatal accident took place on IH-30 in Dallas on Thursday night.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers responded to the exit from I-30 onto 1st Avenue at approximately 11 p.m.
Police said an adult man was injured in a motorcycle accident.
The man was taken by the Dallas Fire Department to an area hospital in critical condition, police said. He was later pronounced dead.
The ramp was closed so officers could investigate the accident.
