Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – The Baden-Württemberg state budget for 2022 amounts to a total of 57.4 billion euros. This was announced by the chairman of the finance committee of the state parliament, Martin Rivoir (SPD), on Friday in Stuttgart. That corresponds to an increase of 3.02 percent over the last budget. The draft, which is to be finally adopted on December 22nd, provides that the green-black government will not take on any new debts in the next year and will pay off almost half a billion euros of the Corona loans. In addition, Grün-Schwarz wants to invest around 915 million euros – the majority of the expenditure will go into political projects that have been set for a long time.
The Green finance politician Markus Rösler spoke of a sustainable budget that includes investments in climate, species and nature conservation. The budget is sustainable. His CDU colleague Tobias Wald emphasized that no new debts would be incurred and that the emergency loans would be repaid in the wake of the corona pandemic. The opposition reiterated its criticism of the budget. The SPD MP Nicolas Fink said the draft was flawed. The FDP politician Stephen Brauer spoke of a shadow budget in which there was no austerity. And AfD financial expert Rainer Podeswa complained that the government’s very last wish had been fulfilled.
Rivoir criticized the Ministry of Social Affairs for not being able to answer questions from the committee in the course of financing corona measures in a timely manner.
