Jakarta: Qualcomm is preparing a chipset for laptops with a Windows operating system, called Snapdragon 8cx Gen3. this chipset is the first 5nm chipset for Windows-on-Arm laptops.
Until now, Qualcomm still has close information regarding Snapdragon 8cx Gen3, but rumors are circulating that this chipset will support flagship devices in the high-end segment and armed with 5G network connectivity.
The first chipset for Windows devices with a 5nm fabrication, this chipset has a number of advantages, including greater efficiency thanks to the nanometer size of the processor.

In addition, Qualcomm is also said to have brought significant improvements to this chipset, which is claimed to be able to provide 85 percent better multi-core performance compared to its predecessor, Snapdragon 8cx Gen2 with 7nm fabrication.
This chipset is also said to carry a GPU performance increase of up to 60 percent, so the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 is armed with a three-fold increase compared to its predecessor.
Qualcomm will also offer laptop OEMs several configurations when it comes to 5G with the X65 modem, claimed to be capable of up to 10 Gbps downlink speeds. In addition, the older version of the X55 is the middle option at 7.5 Gbps, and the X62 at 4.4 Gbps.
Local connectivity supported by this chipset includes the latest Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E. Qualcomm also claims that this laptop that uses the Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 chipset can function without a fan.
But uniquely, Qualcomm reveals that laptop battery life depends on the period of use of each laptop. Previously, the 2021 Qualcomm Tech Summit was officially held offline but was limited after the last two years it was held online due to the pandemic.
At this moment Qualcomm continues to announce the latest generation of chipsets for the highest class or high-end. The latest chipset which is expected to be present in smartphones produced later this year no longer carries the name Snapdragon 800 Series or previously rumored as Snapdragon 898 or 895. They have a new name, namely Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
