The tragedy of the shooting on the set of the film Rust that killed the crew named Halyna Hutchins had a considerable impact on the career of actor Alec Baldwin.
In his interview on Good Morning America, he even said that his career in the acting industry was over.
His face looked emotional when he told the incident which was so imprinted that it traumatized him.
“I don’t care about my career anymore,” said Alec Baldwin.
He was also asked by the host, George Stephanopoulos, whether his career was over because of the incident.
“Yes, it is possible,” he answered firmly.
In addition, the actor admitted that he had never pressed the trigger of the gun. He did hold it but never fired the gun.
“I never pushed the trigger. I didn’t pull the trigger at all. I’ve never pointed a gun at anyone and pushed the trigger, never,” he said.
He also told me that assistant director Dave Hall took one of the guns and gave it to Alec Baldwin. Without checking first, he also said that the gun was safe with the term cold gun.
Hutchins immediately guided him to fire the gun in the specified direction and how to hold it and activate it.
But unfortunately the gun suddenly shot under Halyna Hutchins’ armpit.
“I was already in a position ready to fire. I said, ‘Can you see it? Did you see it?’ Then I pressed back and turned the gun off,” explained Alec Baldwin.
Not only that, Alec was also asked if he felt so guilty about the DoP’s death and blamed himself.
“No, if I (blame myself) then I will choose suicide and I’m not just talking,” he concluded.
