UPPER SPOKES: Mayor Knut Kvale confirmed to Drammens Tidende on Thursday night that omicron infection has been detected in the municipality.
He was clear that the municipality would be part of the initiative region with the country’s most stringent measures.
The Norwegian Directorate of Health now states that the mayor gets what he wants. Thus, the following measures take effect from midnight, night to December 3:
Mouthpiece
It is mandatory to wear a face mask where it is not possible to keep at least one meter distance in shops, malls, restaurants, public transport, indoor station areas and taxis.
The obligation to wear a face mask does not apply to children under the age of 12, or to those who for medical or other reasons cannot wear a face mask.
It is also recommended to wear a face mask where there are a lot of people and it is difficult to keep your distance, for example in a queue to pick up your jacket after an event or on your way out of a football stadium.
The obligation to wear a face mask does not apply while sitting in a fixed space or at a table in a restaurant.
Home office
It is mandatory that workplaces where home offices are possible without compromising important and necessary services, must ensure that employees work from home all or part of the week. This can be done, for example, so that the employees work from home half the time.
Number limit on indoor events
Private events: There can be a maximum of 100 people present at private events indoors in a public place or in rented / borrowed premises.
Public events: At indoor events without fixed allotted seats, there can be a maximum of 600 people in cohorts of 200.
No regulations have been introduced for events with fixed, designated seats.
Restaurants
Restaurants and organizers are obliged to register guests in order to notify them of infection exposure.
There is a requirement for table service of alcohol for restaurants and events that have a license to serve alcohol.
There is also a requirement that all guests have seats at restaurants that have a license to serve alcohol.
When traveling between areas with and without regional measures
You must follow the rules that apply in the area you live in.
For example, if you come from an area without measures to an area that has measures, you must follow the rules that apply where you are staying.
However, if you are coming from an area with measures to an area that does not have it, you should still behave as if you are in the area you are coming from, for example wearing a face mask if you are coming from an area where it is required.
These above measures apply to the following municipalities:
