Suspect robs a school bus and collides with several cars before being captured in Brooklyn – Telemundo New York (47)

Authorities arrested a man Thursday who allegedly robbed a school bus in Brooklyn and collided with several parked vehicles while trying to flee, New York City Police said. Fortunately there were no students in the vehicle.

According to the police report, the uniformed men responded to the call of a stolen school bus, around 1:45 pm, in the area of 148 Jackie Robinson Parkway. Upon arrival, the report says, authorities saw a man inside the bus and when they tried to enter the vehicle, the suspect began to resist.

Faced with this, the agents unsuccessfully deployed a Taser and the suspect fled the scene on the bus. However, authorities said, it collided with several parked cars before crashing into a building located at 1738 East New York Avenue. Despite this, he kept fleeing north for Georgia Avenue and collided with a vehicle heading east on Atlantic AvenuePolice said. The alleged thief fled again until he stopped in the vicinity of Georgia Avenue and Sheffield Avenue where he was detained without further incident.

The driver of the vehicle that was struck on Atlantic Avenue was transported to a hospital for minor injuries, police said.

The suspect has yet to be charged and the case remains under investigation.
