Each year, the Auxerre EFS organizes a blood donation challenge to encourage local structures to form teams and mobilize to donate blood. In Yonne, the generosity rate, i.e. the ratio between the number of inhabitants who have given blood and those of an age to do so, is 2.95% against 4.37% in Burgundy Franche-Comté.
For the 2021 challenge, 160 donors got involved in Yonne, within 23 participating organizations. Figures up compared to 2020, when 126 people from 14 structures were organized. Among the structures mobilized, we find the departmental council of Yonne (38 participants), the Gallien et Macors laboratory (23), the Cerfrance company (16) or even the Sdis 89 (13).

Where to give blood ?
To meet the needs, two Donation Houses are open throughout the year. In Auxerre, (2 boulevard de Verdun), Tuesdays and Fridays, from 10 am to 6 pm; Wednesdays and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In Sens, (avenue Pierre-de-Coubertin), Monday, from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday, 10 am to 6 pm; Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to noon (except the second Saturday of the month).
