Gaillac. The Boule d’Or ensures its maintenance in the French championship of the 1st division

The pétanqueurs de la Boule d’Or do not have too many regrets: their defeat in the final of the “veterans” Tarn Cup, facing the Pétanque du Parc d’Albi does not arouse any dispute. “We came across a very good team, very complete”. On the frames of the Saint-Juéry bowling alley; Michèle Roger, Antoine Lopes, Daniel Delga, Alain Blua, Thierry Graviou, Louis Guiliani, Jean-Claude Lovatel and Jean-Pierre Buffel had a good run during the events which included six head to head, three doubles and two triplets. The French first division club championship, where the Boule d’Or is the only Midi-Pyrenean club qualified with Ax-les-Thermes, took place in three rounds. The first, in Saint Yrieix, was marked for the boules players from Gaillac by a defeat against Ax, who will finish first in the group, then a victory against Lanester (Morbihan). In the second round, in Champdeniers (Deux-Sèvres), the Boule d’Or won its two matches against Arlanc (Puy-de-Dôme) and Angoulême. Unfortunately, during the third round in Bassens (Gironde), the Gaillacois miss the point and lose all three matches, against Isle (Haute-Vienne), Champdeniers and Bassens. La Boule d’Or therefore finished fifth, which is enough to ensure that it remains at this level for next season. For this French club championship, the team was made up of Charles, Shun and Louis Brun, Ludovic Massoutier, William Roger, Axel Dahmani and Vincent Vitalone. In the Coupe de France, the Boule d’Or qualified for the third regional round, against the Aveyronnais de Creissels, by winning two head to head, three doublets and a triplet.

Most of the players, individually this time, should meet on Sunday 5 December, from 9:30 am at the covered boules pitch in Bouzinac, to compete in a competition organized by the Boule d’Or, in triplets (with license). The health pass will be required to enter the room.
