The interim trainer of the “Red Devils” is apparently driving the personnel planning for the English record champions. In focus: A top performer from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.
Do the Bundesliga clubs have to tremble for their stars now? After the appointment of Ralf Rangnick as interim coach at Manchester United, the long-time successful coach is apparently driving the club’s personnel planning ahead – and is looking very closely at Germany. According to a report, the 63-year-old has a high performer in his sights – of all things, from his ex-club.
Because the “Daily Mail” writes: Rangnick is interested in Amadou Haidara from RB Leipzig. Accordingly, the “Red Devils” even sent scouts to the Saxons game at Union Berlin this Friday, they should also watch the midfielder in the Champions League game against Manchester City. United is considering signing the Malian international during the winter break – for the equivalent of 38 million euros. Curious: Almost a year ago Haidara scored his first Champions League goal for Leipzig – and that in the contested 3-2 win against United.
Rangnick already knows Haidara
According to the report, Manchester are looking for reinforcements for the central and defensive midfield, which is often lacking in assertiveness despite big names like Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic or Donny van de Beek.
Haidara came to Leipzig in 2018 – when Rangnick took over as RB coach for the second time – for 19 million euros from Red Bull Salzburg, scored ten goals in 100 competitive games for the club and prepared six more goals.
