The Coordinator of the Indonesian Advocates Movement, Petrus Selestinus, reports the alleged case hate speech and fake news to Polda Metro Jaya, Wednesday (1/12).
This report is related to the video content on Rocky Gerung Official’s Youtube account with the title ‘MIVING MUI AFFAIRS, ROMO BENNY MUST RETURN OR FROM BPIP!’.
“As a result of the provocative and untruthful title, there was a negative response from Father Benny, BPIP, the Catholic Church, towards KWI, even entering into the nuances of SARA,” Petrus told reporters, Wednesday (1/12).
Upon his report, Petrus asked the police to examine or ask for information from a number of parties. Namely, Hersubeno Arief, Rocky Gerung, Refly Harun, Adi Masardi, and Natalius Pigai.
“They need to be heard. But later on, who deserves to be held criminally responsible and who doesn’t deserve to be investigated is fully under the authority of investigators and investigators,” said Petrus.
Petrus said that his party also included a number of evidences to strengthen this report.
“(Evidence) Youtube media interview with Pak Hendardi and attaching Youtube video of Hersubeno Arief’s interview with Rocky Gerung, Youtube comments by Refly Harun and online media statement Natalius Pigai,” he said.
This report was received with the number LP/B/6013/XII/2021/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA on December 1, 2021.
In the report, the reporting party is Petrus Selestinus, while the reported party is still under investigation.
The reported articles are related to hate speech and fake news as stated in Article 28 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 2 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning ITE and or Article 14 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations.
