“Of the 1,094 cases, 399 of them are residents who live in Tegal City with details of 264 HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), 135 AIDS and 61 of them have died,” said Head of the Tegal City Health Office, Dr Sri Primawati Indraswari in his office, Wednesday (1 /12/2021).

Sri Prima said, as an effort to improve case findings, the innovations carried out by the Tegal City Health Office were by notifying spouses, searching for active cases through VCT Mobille to hotspots including Correctional Institutions.
With case findings as early as possible, Sri Primawati hopes to get access to ARV treatment as soon as possible, so cases of HIV to AIDS can be suppressed.

“Along with the increase in Health Facilities with Treatment Support Care Services (PDP), the number of deaths due to HIV-AIDS in Tegal City has decreased from year to year,” said Sri Prima.

He continued, HIV/AIDS prevention and control efforts aim to achieve the Three Zero target by 2030, namely no more transmission of new HIV infections, no more deaths from AIDS and no more stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV-AIDS (PLWHA).

Efforts that have been made by the Government have started in 2017, the Fast Track 90-90-90 strategy was launched which includes accelerating the achievement of 90 percent of people knowing their HIV status through testing or early detection, 90 percent of PLWHA who know their HIV status start ARV therapy and 90 percent of PLWHA in ARV therapy. This step has succeeded in suppressing the number of viruses so that it reduces the possibility of HIV transmission and there is no more stigma and discrimination for PLWHA.

“So PLWHA is optimistic, they can still work and work,” concluded Sri Primawati.
