Reveals anger – Zlatan confronts his teammates in Milan: “No one ran in training”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 40, is currently working on the book Adrenalina. In a long interview with Corriere della Sera before the book release, the Swede talks about his first stay at AC Milan, when Massimiliano Allegri was the club’s coach.

– We lost to Arsenal 3-0 in the Champions League and he was happy. It is true that we went on (4-3 in total), but there was nothing to be happy about – and I pointed that out to him. He told me to think of myself, that I had played badly. I replied that he had done badly, out of fear he took two goalkeepers on the bench, says Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Corriere della Sera and continues:

– Allegri is very good at managing the locker room, but he must have more courage. He should have gone to Real Madrid to measure himself in another country, but instead he made the comfortable choice (and stayed in Italy).

After the 2012 season, Zlatan Ibrahimovic left the Italian big club for a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. The Swede also managed to represent Manchester United and the Los Angeles Galaxy before returning to Milan at the end of 2019.

Now the 40-year-old reveals that the work ethic in the Milan team he had joined was far too bad, something he made sure to change quickly.

– At first, no one ran in the training. I confronted them one by one, and not at the sidelines, but in front of the others: in training you have to kill yourself with your work. If I run, if I take cabbage on myself, then my teammate will also run and take cabbage on himself for me. Everyone understood it except one, says Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

He comes? Asks Corriere della Sera reporter.

– (Raphael) Leão did not take it at first. He played for himself. But he has improved a lot, says the Swede.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been sidelined with injury concerns and missed large parts of the autumn season. Since his comeback, the 40-year-old has been noted for five goals and two assists in eleven matches in the Milan shirt.
