Füchse Berlin celebrated their next clear home win in the European League three days after their runaway win against Bergische HC. On Tuesday evening, in front of 2012 spectators in the Max-Schmeling-Halle, the Berliners won against the Swiss champions Pfadi Winterthur with 35:29 (17:11). The handball Bundesliga team remains the undefeated leader of the group A. Berlin’s best throwers were Milos Vujovic and Valter Chrintz with seven goals each.

The handball Bundesliga team remains the undefeated leader of the group A. Berlin’s best throwers were Milos Vujovic and Valter Chrintz with seven goals each.
Coach Jaron Siewert gave veteran Hans Lindberg and captain Paul Drux a break. His team got off to a good start and quickly took a 4-1 lead. But then mistakes crept into the hosts’ offensive game. After losing the ball and missed throws, the score was 5: 5.
But the Berliners countered with a 5-0 run and now had everything under control again. The Swiss could often close the center on the defensive and thus make it difficult for the back area of the Füchse, but offensively they were limited. The half-time lead of the hosts could have been significantly higher.
Immediately after the break, the Berliners continued to set themselves apart after winning several balls with a 4-1 run. With the clear guidance in the back, however, numerous errors of concentration crept in again. In addition, Siewert now spared some of the regular employees. It was bitter that playmaker Marian Michalczik injured himself in the closing stages and had to be carried off the field.
