Travis Scott is once again targeted by a potentially costly lawsuit. According to Forbes, a lawyer named Thomas Henry, who represents 282 festival-goers caught up in the Astroworld crowd movement, is asking the rapper for $ 2 billion to compensate his clients. And this amount could increase further, since, as the relay
TheWrap, 120 other spectators contacted the lawyer to represent them.
“The defendants had the possibility of earning an exorbitant sum of money thanks to this event and they chose to take shortcuts, to reduce the costs and to endanger the participants in the festival”, one can read in the relayed complaint by publication.
All targeted
Also named in the complaint are Drake, who was playing alongside Travis Scott that evening, as well as Apple Music, which sponsored the event, Live Nation, which organized it, NRG Stadium, where it took place, and finally Cactus Jack Productions, the rapper’s company. This is only the latest lawsuit against the artist, three days after the complaint filed by a Houston lawyer, Tony Buzbee, who claims for his part 750 million dollars to compensate the hundred people he represents.
So far, 10 people have died in the devastating crowd movement, and 25 have been hospitalized. In total, according to Forbes, 300 people were injured. Texan authorities continue to investigate the precise circumstances of the incident and nothing has been released on the direction these investigations were taking.
