The Extremadura Health Service (SES) has summoned more than 5,500 women in the region to have mammograms during the month of December, within the Breast Cancer Early Detection Program.

About 3,700 users will be examined in the two mobile units that this program has, which will visit ten towns in the region this month, as reported by the Junta de Extremadura in a press release,

As in all SES services, the cited users must follow the rules and recommendations of the health authorities such as keeping their distances, extreme hand hygiene, showing up on time at the time of the appointment to avoid crowds, and not attending the test if they have breathing problems, fever or covid symptoms.

The mobile units will begin their tours this Wednesday in the Badajo town of Mirandilla and then they will continue their itineraries in Montijo, Barbaño, Esparragalejo, San Pedro de Mérida, La Garrovilla, Trujillanos, Valverde de Mérida, Cordobilla de Lácara and La Nava de Santiago (Badajoz).

The users of Lácara (Badajoz), who will have to travel to Montijo for mammograms, and Aljucén (Badajoz), who will have to go to the mobile unit located in Mirandilla.

Women residing in urban centers who will participate in the Breast Cancer Early Detection Program during December will be treated at specialized care centers in Badajoz (324), Don Benito (314), Talarrubias (20), Mérida (205), Almendralejo (87) and Zafra (74), in the case of the Badajo province.

Also in Navalmoral de la Mata (108), Cáceres (352), Trujillo (45), Coria (78) and Plasencia (254), in the province of Cáceres.

The Extremadura Breast Cancer Early Detection Program, which has been developing since 1998, is aimed at all women aged 50 to 69 years living in the region, and those aged 40 to 49 with a history of breast cancer in the first place. degree.
