A hundred vehicles in a landfill in the United States

This collection of a hundred models is fortunately not abandoned, but used for the resale of spare parts online. Discovery in video!

A long driveway of several kilometers, hilly and wooded. This extends to the heart of Great Smoky Mountains, a chain of assemblies on the border of Tennessee and North Carolina, in the United States.

It’s in this dream setting that the American youtubers of the channel Hot Road Hoarder made the discovery a hundred cars – mainly American – in a large open dump, lost in nature. Certainly not abandoned in the true sense of the word, all these vehicles die back in vegetation or sheds, with several of them in shabby.

For pieces

The owner of this disastrous collection is an automobile enthusiast, an amateur mechanic, and also a parts dealer. These cars are like this stored here to be sold in detached pieces, on eBay in particular. Some have been there for several years now, while others have arrived more recently in the collection, which continues to grow.

Most of the vehicles come from American catalogs from the 60s and 70s : Ford Galaxie, Chevrolet Impala, Cadillac De Ville, Pontiac GTO etc … rare non-American vehicles are a few examples of Opel GT, British Ford Perfects, or small Hillmans.

La Vega in the spotlight

One of the most represented models of its collection, is surprisingly the Chevrolet Vega. An economy family sedan (1970-1977) that did not really shine nor by a line elegant, nor by a very powerful motor (90 horses). The man thus has about forty, but the majority of them are versions Cosworth 110 horsepower, prepared at the time by the homonymous preparer … Today, very rare.

All these vehicles although in a sorry state are therefore always well considered, and its current owner has managed to transforming his passion for old models into a particularly lucrative business !
