An iconic personality. Franco-British actress Charlotte gainsbourg came to meet the public at the cinema of Pont-Audemer (Eure), during the preview of his film Jane par Charlotte. The room was full. And for good reason, the actress and director of the film about her mother Jane Birkin was present at the end of the session to discuss with the public.

The 50-year-old actress, greeted with thunderous applause, was happy with her presence at the Pont-Audemer cinema and the enthusiasm of her audience. We must admit that the stars do not visit the city every day. “Thank you all for being so numerous”, Charlotte Gainsbourg testified, before recounting her attachment to the Normandy region: “I am obviously attached to Normandy. We had a house there, in Cormeilles. I had a great time here. “
The documentary film tells, through images filmed by Charlotte Gainsbourg herself, the relationship between the actress and her mother, Jane Birkin. She too has been an actress in films like The swimming pool (1969), I love you neither (1976) by Serge Gainsbourg… His daughter’s documentary also traces the various outstanding moments of the Gainsbourg family. They return to important places in their lives such as New York, the childhood home or the former residence of Serge Gainsbourg.
The audience was touched by this film and the emotion was intense in the cinema hall. “It’s a very beautiful film,” said a spectator to Charlotte Gainsbourg; another gave him a rose. The documentary Jane by Charlotte will be released on January 12, 2022 in theaters.
