Jānis Zālītis (1951) – literary historian, doctor of philology, participated in the preparation of the academic edition of Rainis Kopotu’s articles and Imants Ziedonis’ articles, co-author of the encyclopedic dictionary “Latvian Writing in Biographies”. He has written about the creative and biographical issues of Lev Tolstoy, Rainis, Aspazija, Austras Skujiņa, Rihards Valdes, Valdemārs Kārkliņš, Andrieva Niedra, Jānis Sudrabkalns and other writers; The newspaper “Laiks” (2004-2005) published a monographic reflection “The World on the Wing or the Book Friend Helmars Rudzitis”. In 2018, the publishing house “Dienas Kirjan” started work on a new major project of Latvian literature “Es esmu …”.
