As Mikša explained, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index is considered an important rating in assessing corporate environmental and social responsibility performance and is an important benchmark for investors and other stakeholders in assessing the non-financial performance of companies.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index measures companies’ performance in three main categories: environmental responsibility, good governance and community involvement. In the environmental category “Orkla” has achieved a total score of 71 out of 100. In terms of packaging, the company is rated with 79 points out of 100, which is 35 points more than last year.
Orkla has also been recognized this year for its work in the field of health and nutrition, especially in focusing on developing healthier foods and other products that promote a healthier lifestyle.
It has already been reported that Orkla Latvija last year had a turnover of 104.2 million euros and a profit of 4.6 million euros, LETA was informed by the company. Thus, according to the calculations of the agency LETA, the turnover of the group last year increased by 22.3%, while the profit – by 63.9%.
