Breathing farts would be good for your health … And it’s Science that says it!


Farts stink but it’s good for your health!

To be in better health, it would sometimes be enough only to sniff farts! Here is a funny idea … and yet do you imagine that the smell of flatulence would have many more virtues for our well-being than you might think. It is even researchers from the University of Exeter in England who say so! After conducting a very serious study on the subject, they discovered that hydrogen sulfide that we produce when we fart, would be a miracle health remedy and to say the least unsuspected.

If this gas is responsible for the often nauseating smell of “rotten egg” that emanates from our winds, it is also what can help prevent certain diseases when we breathe it. And for good reason, according to the professor Matt Whiteman one of the authors of this research, it is this creation of gas which “allows cells to live”. Hydrogen sulfide converts glucose into energy in order to preserve the mitochondria, essential in the life cycle of all cells.

Breathing farts: but what for?

For the doctor Mark Wood, hydrogen sulfide would even be “a health hero with significant implications for future therapies for a variety of disease”.

Regularly sniffing farts would not only reduce the risk of cancer, stroke or heart attacks, but also avoid dementia or arthritis. A remedy that is certainly astonishing, but which is perhaps worth considering. At worst, no one will need to know that you secretly breathe your farts …
