Case Corona in Germany increasingly fierce. With so many cases, hospitals in Germany are full of Corona patients.
On Friday (26/11) Germany recorded 76,414 new cases. That figure is a new record in Germany.
As reported Associated PressOn Saturday (11/27/2021), the infectious disease center of the Robert Koch Institute said Germany also recorded 357 new deaths from COVID-19 as of Friday (11/26/2021), bringing the total deaths since the start of the outbreak to 100,476.
German Health Minister Jens Spahn said contact between people needed to be sharply reduced. He warned that “the situation is dramatically serious, more serious than at any point in the pandemic.”
However, he declined to say whether he would support the sweeping restrictions seen during the earlier stages of the pandemic, when schools, non-essential shops and other areas of public life were closed.
Germany’s Response to the Omicron Variant
Regarding the new variant of COVID-19, named Omicron, which is known to have spread in South Africa, Spahn said airlines arriving from there will only be able to transport German nationals. The tourists must also be quarantined for 14 days whether they are vaccinated or not, he said.
“The last thing we need is to bring in a new variant that will cause more problems,” Spahn said.
