Lithuanian Eurovision winners “The Roop” return with a new digger

Lithuania’s “The Roop” has returned and is offering a new single and video “Ohmygodable” after a fantastic success in the finals of the domestic Eurovision Song Contest last year, when a record vote was set.

The song “Ohmygodable” was written in Aukštaitija National Park, where the group’s creative camp took place in the woods. “I always come back here to finish working on the songs, beyond the rhythm of civilization and the city,” says Vaidots Valukevich, the leader of The Roop.

In the song, the band calls for continuous search, playfulness and at the same time to look at life, art and oneself from a different point of view. The playfulness is also included in the video of the song, which was created by the same director who worked with the group on the song “Discoteque” – Saulius Baradisks.

The Roop is a Lithuanian association founded in 2014. It consists of singer Vaidots Valukevich, guitarist Mants Banišausks and drummer Roberts Baranauskas. The group became well-known after participating in the selection of the 2018 Lithuanian Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Yes, I Do”, remaining in third place. On the other hand, The Roop’s song “On Fire” won in 2020, and the song’s video reached more than 30 million views. to the Eurovision Song Contest, where he took eighth place in the song “Discotieque.” In addition, the band won four Lithuanian Music Awards – “Best Song”, “Best Group”, “Best Pop Artist” and “Breakthrough of the Year”.
