A new set Animal Crossing fences were added to the game thanks to the 2.0 update.
Not only are they good items to decorate with, but fences are extremely versatile around the house and beyond. For example, you can create paths with it and now with the new options it has become much easier to match the fences or to come up with new styles.

How to unlock new fences and customize fences in Animal Crossing New Horizons
Once you have downloaded the 2.0 update, go to the NookStation at the service desk and redeem Nook Miles.
You are looking for the ‘Custom fencing in a flash’ option. Buy these for 2,500 Nook miles and you’ll immediately get the ability to customize fences.
Not only that, but you also immediately get two new types of fences to build.

The other fences circulate every day and can be purchased with Nook miles (any two fences for sale at the NookStation) or require DIY plans and/or seasonal events.
For example, there is a fence that is part of thesnowflake set, and one of the bamboo set.
But now that the Kapp’n boat trips there, you no longer have to wait for the right time of year to start. Seasons can vary per visit, giving you the chance to get DIY plans from that seasonal set. Don’t forget to look at the beach.

Animal Crossing New Horizons new fences list
If you’re looking for more variety in your front yard or along the trails on your island, here are nine new fences for you to use.
The full list, plus what they look like, is as follows:
- Park fencing (unlock with the purchase of ‘Custom fencing in a flash’)
- Large lattice fencing (unlock with the purchase of ‘Custom fencing in a flash’)

How to customize fences in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
If you want to add another layer of personality to your fences, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update lets you select different colors.
Adjusting fences is the same as always. You must have customization packs in your inventory, then a Workbench look up and select ‘modify something’, and finally select the fences from your inventory.
