Sporting’s qualification for the round of 16 of the Champions League has placed the name of Rúben Amorim even more in the European showcase and, guarantees the Telegraph, the name of Sporting’s coach will be very well quoted by the Manchester United board.
The hypothesis was already raised by the same newspaper last week and even Rúben Amorim himself has already reacted to the interest (see attached article). After the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the position of coach at the English club will be assumed by Ralf Rangnick on an interim basis until the end of the season, after which the German will become director.
The coach, seen by Manchester United as being at the “vanguard of the new generation”, has a contract with Sporting until 2024 and a cancellation clause of 30 million euros.
In addition to Portuguese, Argentine Mauricio Pochettino (PSG) and Dutch Erik Ten Hag (Ajax) are also on the list of red devils.
