This fall has been tough for American rapper Gerald Earl Gillum (32), better known as G-Eazy.
In mid-September, it became known that he had been arrested after getting into a fight on the streets of New York. According to among others NBC News the star is said to have hit two people in the face outside a hotel.

G-Eazy was present the night before MTV Video Music Awards, and was arrested on Monday, September 13, for the offense. However, he was released, and according to police, he was to appear in court at a later date.

On Wednesday night, however, the 32-year-old came with a very sad news on Instagram. There he announced that his mother, Suzanne Olmsted, has passed away. She was only 65 years old.

Letter led to rehab
G-Eazy is honest that he has received treatment for his problems with alcohol and drugs, and opened up in the post about what made him realize that he needed help.
“Even how deeply concerned I was for you and your physical health, I did not realize the extent of how worried you were for me until you sent me the most difficult letter I have ever had to read… Going to treatment for alcohol and drug problems was mine decision, but your letter was what finally persuaded me “, he wrote.
