Coronavirus vaccine – former Pfizer employee suspected of stealing drug data

According to the agency, an employee of the company violated the confidentiality agreement and downloaded more than 12 thousand files to her laptop without permission. This includes, among other things, internal estimates of vaccine performance in a report prepared by September this year.

In addition, the files contained data on cancer drug development and information on Pfizer’s relationship with German partner BioNTech.

Pfizer believes that Chun Xiao Li, prior to her dismissal, repeatedly tried to cover up her tracks and even provided a fake laptop so that the employer could make sure there were no classified materials on the computer.

The company suggests that the former employee was helped by five more unnamed persons. Pfizer has filed a lawsuit and is demanding that Xiao Li be ordered to cooperate with the internal investigation.

As the newspaper notes, Xiao Li worked at Pfizer for 15 years. The reasons for her dismissal from the pharmaceutical company are unknown. The employee herself declined to comment.
