Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with the former RB Leipzig coach, Ralf Rangnick.
According to the Daily Mail, Rangnick has agreed a six-month contract to take over at Man Utd. This means that the German coach will lead until the end of the season.
Rangnick is said to be considered the ideal alternative to lift Man Utd’s form after the difficulty of signing Mauricio Poechettino from Paris Saint Germain.
Rangnick is said to have communicated with Man Utd officials, Ed Woodward and John Murtough, before they officially appointed Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.
This time, Rangnick spoke again with Woodward and Murtough about his future at Old Trafford on Monday.
After six months of stint at Old Trafford, Rangnick will serve as a consultant for two years with the Red Devils.
After agreeing to accept an offer from Man Utd, Rangnick immediately left his job at Lokomotiv Moscow as the club’s sporting and development director.
However, the tactician nicknamed the ‘Godfather of Modern German Football’ could not immediately lead Man Utd to Chelsea’s headquarters in the 13th week of the Premier League due to work permit problems.
The 63-year-old coach had previously coached Hannover, Schalke, Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig before moving to Lokomotiv Moscow as sporting director.
Italian journalist who is observant about the transfer of players and football coach, Fabrizio Romano, also spoke about the agreement between Man Utd and Rangnick.
Man Utd currently appoint Michael Carrick as interim coach while waiting for the official head coach who is considered ideal to boost the game Cristiano Ronaldo et al.
