Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Non-fungible Tokens or NFT became popular this year. The Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil also spoke about the crypto token.
He called NFT a digital art exchange whose products cannot be held. All creative products can be sold on the exchange.
“Because the exchange means that you have to register to become a member of the exchange. Because of art, all creative products can be sold on the exchange. Because it is digital, the products are visible but cannot be held,” said Ridwan Kamil, Thursday (11/25/2021).
According to the man who is familiarly called Kang Emil, NFT is a new way from a leader’s perspective to prosper creative economy actors. They are known to sell their art products through galleries or the streets.
With the sale through the NFT exchange, the scale will go global. There are special members in it who are creative economy enthusiasts.
“If IG is mixed, there is for selfies, trade. If NFT is selected, only those who have an interest in buying in the digital field. Then there are those who term digital assets,” he said.
Ridwan Kamil added that objects sold with NFT can be of two types. Namely works in digital or physical form and then photographed into new objects.
“Dividing into two can be made on a computer (digital) or physical objects that are photographed and then the photo becomes a medium (object). For example, a painting is burned, but it was photographed first. So there is no physical object, but the digital is there,” said the former Bandung Mayor.
He does not deny that digital works can be faked. However, when the object enters the NFT platform, blockchain technology will know whether the item is genuine or not.
In addition, Ridwan Kamil also said that this digital object makes what looks simple becomes expensive. According to him, the most important key is marketing that can increase the price of an item.
“In my interest, this is a new method, only people find it complicated. So I will make a way to create an account on the exchange and it will be coordinated by us. So you can leave it to us, you don’t have to register again and pay again, we are like providing a container,” he explained.
