Berlin (dpa / bb) – The police arrested four suspected drug traffickers in Kreuzberg and Moabit. Civil forces had previously observed the handover of a suspicious moving box between two men aged 42 and 44 in front of a residential building, the police and the attorney general said on Wednesday. During the subsequent search of the men and their cars on Tuesday afternoon, the police said they had confiscated several kilograms of narcotics, cash and cell phones.
Police later observed two other men, aged 43 and 46, in front of the apartment building handing over suspected drugs. The police found several kilograms of drugs, cash and cell phones again. The further investigation finally led the officials to the alleged bunker apartment of the men in Kreuzberg. Around 100 cannabis plants and drug packaging material were confiscated there.
The men are being investigated on suspicion of illicit drug trafficking. Two suspects were released, while the two 43- and 46-year-olds are now to be brought before a judge.
