Offenbach (dpa / lhe) – This week the first snow is announced for Hesse. On Friday it could be white above 400 to 500 meters, said the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach on Wednesday. In the course of the following night, the snow line drops to 200 to 400 meters, two to six centimeters of snow are possible. As early as Thursday evening and the following night, some snow pebbles can fall from the sky at higher altitudes. In the nights it becomes slippery in places.
Thursday runs at two to four degrees mostly with cloudy skies, in the course of the day it can loosen up occasionally. Towards evening light rain or drizzle falls occasionally in the north-west, at higher altitudes there is a bit of snow drizzle. Similarly, it continues on Friday with temperatures of two to five degrees, occasionally it rains or snows a little.
At night, precipitation increases again from the west, in lower areas it comes down as rain, in upper areas as snow. It continues on Saturday with rain and sleet in the lowlands as well as with snow in the mountains. The maximum temperatures are between zero and two degrees in the upper regions and three to five degrees in the valleys.
