Last week the school jurisdiction, which serves about 11,000 students in an area within 60 miles, if I saw shaken by six shootings. Among them was reported one near Newburgh Free Academy, which led its administrators to close their classrooms, while police investigated the shooting that injured four teenagers, aged between 16 and 18 years.
