YB’s Champions League adventure ends in the group stage. The Bernese Young Boys fight for a point against Atalanta, but a goal was missing for a premier class final game in Manchester. Now the Bernese are playing for a place in the Europa League on the last day of the match.
In the freezing cold in Wankdorf, it was the guests from Bergamo who started the game better. As in the home game against Villarreal, YB fell behind early. Atalanta did not give up, however. With a free kick, Muriel, who had just been substituted, made it 3: 3 from Atalanta’s point of view. YB still had a big chance to make it 4: 3, but the guests from Italy were able to prevent the impact. Now it’s about the ticket for the Europa League for the Bernese in Manchester. The good thing about it: Manchester won the game against Villarreal and is already qualified for the Champions League round of 16. Once again, Cristiano Ronaldo brought the English down the road to victory.
