Thanks to the support of the State Culture Capital Fund, the funny show, conducted by Viesturs Gailis, will be performed in Latvian in two acts. Director – Ināra Slucka, set designer – Aigars Ozoliņš. Evija Dāboliņa has taken care of the costumes. The adventures of the main characters will survive the adventures of the future opera singers. Starring: Rakeline – Vladitov, Donna Eugene – Luize Anna Kalnina, Amaranta – Kitia Mint, Don Calaloandro Pirolo – Dainis Kalnačs, Luigi – Renars East, Nick Freimanis, Fistofolo – Martins Ivulis, Don Rospolone – Artis Muiznieks.
The libretto of the opera has been translated from Italian by Irma Pavāre and Olga Kitova, while the musical lyrics and arrangements have been translated by opera studios. Figaro the accompanying group was formed by Viesturs Gailis.
The Italian composer Giovanni Paizello (1740–1816) is a representative of classical music – one of the most famous opera composers of his time. As the composer himself mastered the art of vocal music, he also knew the specifics and possibilities of the singer’s voice. He has created a total of 94 operas. Comic opera The miller (La Molinara, 1788) is a wonderful example of Giovanni Paizello ‘s ability to compose gracefully sparkling and beautiful melodies. Opera duet I do not feel in my heart more is considered one of the composer ‘s most expressive examples of music. It is performed twice in the show – first Rakelina sings it with Don Calaloandro Priolo and then with Fistofolo.
