As a footballer, he is a star all over the world. But his heart is still attached to his home town of Freiburg. And especially to disadvantaged children from the Breisgau.
Matthias Ginter (27) founded a foundation together with his wife Christina in 2018. The goal: to make everyday life easier for mentally, physically or socially disadvantaged children.

On Monday, the Ginters invited to a foundation gala in the historic department store on Freiburg’s Münsterplatz. Also present: ex-national coach Jogi Löw, the Freiburg pros Christian Günter, Lucas Höler, Dominique Heintz and Yannik Keitel, YouTube star Cossu, drag queen Betty-BBQ and many other stars.
Ginter: “We want the foundation to continue to grow. An evening like this is very important for the children in Freiburg. “

His wife Christina: “Corona has out of necessity expanded our spectrum again. In the last two years there have been countless projects that we didn’t even have on our radar. New problems came up that we weren’t aware of yet. Many children were at home, there was more domestic violence. Thank God it flattens out a bit. ”In the last two years alone, 20 new projects have been added.
Of course, the evening was also there to shake a few euros out of the pockets of the guests for a good cause. A five-figure sum has come together.
