Kia unveils second-generation Niro crossover

The small Kia Niro crossover, which was previously available as a “full” hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric car, will get a new generation at the Seoul, Korea, which will start this week. The carmaker has now published four trailers that reveal the first information about the news.

The main thing is the design – the new niro will obviously be strongly inspired by the HabaNiro concept from 2019. With its wing doors, it was a bit brave for mainstream series production, but the daytime running lights and taillights will obviously be transferred to the new niro.

The carmaker says about the novelty that its design follows a philosophy called “United Opposites”. We will probably find out in a few days what this specifically means in terms of the car’s appearance. For now, it must be enough that this is related to the pursuit of sustainable car production and that it combines eco-friendliness with driving pleasure.

Inside, we can expect either two displays – the instrument panel and the central display – on one panel, or one very long display. It also looks like the ambient lighting on the dashboard, the yacht-like lines on the doors and – thank God – a separate climate control panel.

Let’s wait for the rest at the Seoul Motor Show. There we could find out if the niro will be available again in three electrified versions, and also when the novelty will go on sale – whether this year or next year.
