Apple COO, Jeff Williams, revealed that Apple began to provide access to authorized Apple components to consumers when they needed repairs. By providing components, tools, and training in order to provide options for people who want to improve themselves.
“Giving access to Apple authorized components to our customers when repairs are needed. Over the past 3 years, Apple has increased the number of locations for Apple repair sites with parts, tools, and training and we are now providing options for people who want to repair themselves,” said Williams.
It is also good news for third-party service shops to become their business area, because with this program it is also easier for them to get official components from Apple and repair them.
With this program running, Apple will start by providing components for iPhone 12 and 13 smartphones. However, it is possible to develop it to other devices to Mac computers in the future.
Apple also emphasized that the Self Service Repair program is intended for people who have knowledge in repairing electronic devices. For Users who have not experienced a good technology experience, it is recommended to go to an authorized service center.
Williams also added that Self Service Repair is intended for a technician with knowledge and experience repairing electronic devices.
