Freiburg (dpa) – Oliver Glasner was happy with Jesper Lindström. In the 13th competitive game, the newcomer finally scored his first goal for Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday. With that, the Dane paved the way not only for his team to 2-0 (2-0) at SC Freiburg, but also out of the league table of the Bundesliga. After their third competitive game win in a row, Eintracht is now five points ahead of relegation rank. On Thursday against Royal Antwerp it is about the group victory in the Europa League, but the Hessians have at least the playoffs for sure. It should be a relatively relaxed week for her – thanks in part to her new striker.
“It’s not always a steep way up. But we support the players,” said Glasner when asked about Lindström’s development.
