This morning the Minister of Health, Dr. Enrique Paris, called on the population to participate in the elections of president, congressmen and regional councilors, following the established sanitary protocols.
“The call is to attend to vote, to participate. We can vote safely and calmly (…) we have seen in each election the use of a mask, the cleaning of hands with alcohol gel, the concern to maintain physical distance and avoid crowds ”, He pointed out after eight in the morning, the time when the polling stations open.
As undersecretary Paula Daza did this week, the Minister Paris stressed that the epidemiological situation of the country regarding the pandemic is more auspicious than in other elections held this year, such as the election of conventional and mayors in May.
“Although we have experienced a slight increase in cases due to the Delta variant, the indicators have stabilized, managing to close with a positivity of 3.2, versus last week which was 3.4”, he pointed.
