The US position on Russian activities in Ukraine is clear and unchanging, said the press center of the US State Department. The statement was in response to a request from Club Z, after the presidential debate in Bulgaria led to opposition to the positions of Crimea.

The position of the United States, the European Union and Bulgaria has always been that Crimea is part of Ukraine.

The US State Department quoted Secretary of State Anthony Blinkon as saying in response to a journalistic question in Africa, where he is currently on tour.

Here is his answer:

Ukraine has already demanded that President Radev immediately correct his words from the presidential debate on BNT, where he said that the Crimean peninsula is currently Russian.

On Friday, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry summoned Bulgarian Ambassador to Kiev Kostadin Kojabashev to a meeting at which he was conveyed the opinion of official Kiev on the “incorrect and unacceptable statement of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev.”
