More and more people believe that the corona outbreak will be a long-term affair, despite the fact that more and more people are fully vaccinated.
It shows recent figures from a survey conducted by the market analysis agency Opinion. Over 42,000 Norwegians responded the survey.
The results show that every third Norwegian (34 percent) believes that the corona outbreak will last for more than two years.
Just as many, ie 34 per cent, believe the outbreak could last up to a year, while only 6 per cent believe the corona outbreak will be over in half a year.
The remaining of those who responded to the survey (26 percent) expect that the outbreak could last for up to two years.
– The fact that most people think the pandemic will be more prolonged is probably partly a result of a collective recognition that a high vaccine level is not in itself a guarantee of low infection, says senior adviser Nora Clausen in Opinion.
Unknown effect
Recently, FHI informed TV 2 that they are uncertain about the effect of a third dose.
Chief physician Are Berg at FHI pointed out that FHI “does not know very much about the effect of a refreshing dose” yet.
– We know that it has an effect, but how big and long-lasting it is, we do not know enough about, he said then.
The health service under pressure from several teams
The last few weeks have been marked by infection records, and this week Norway set a new infection record with 2,552 infected in one day. In the last 24 hours, 2,364 cases of infection have been registered on a national basis.

More and more people are being vaccinated. Nevertheless, the FHI says that they fears an increase in the number of hospital admissions leading up to Christmas.
Several cases of infection have also led to several admissions to St. Olav’s Hospital, and a number of hospitals have increased preparedness.
Absence due to illness among nurses has also increased, at the same time as the situation for several of the country’s largest hospitals is so pressured that they have to postpone operations.
