Viewers annoyed because of a breakdown in the final

Normally, the viewers of “The Masked Singer” can vote for their favorites week after week via an app and also give tips there as to which famous people might be among the masks. However, for the final on Saturday evening, of all places, this option did not exist. Due to technical problems with the app, which, according to the moderator Matthias Opdenhövel, could not be resolved so quickly, they had to pick up the phone instead of the keyboard in the finale.

“We thought it was the final. It has to be done with the right things. And almost everyone has a phone at home,” said Opdenhövel in relation to this, giving the telephone number and direct dialing of the four finalists – Raupe, Mops, Mülli Müller and Heldin – by. Voting via SMS is also possible. Users on Twitter noted that this way of participating in the show is of course very different than via the app, which is not free. Both calls and SMS cost 50 cents.

“The Masked Singer” has been running at ProSieben since 2019. Due to the great popularity of the show, there are now two seasons a year. Singer Max Mutzke won the opening season as an astronaut. It was followed by singer and actor Tom Beck, who was in a sloth costume in season two and left it as the winner. After him, singer Sarah Lombardi was able to assert herself as a skeleton against the competition and in the spring season 2021 Sasha as the dinosaur. Alexander Klaws is now following in his footsteps alias Mülli Müller.
