A Saharanpur man was arrested for allegedly sharing pro-Pakistani content on his WhatsApp status after beating India in a T20 World Cup game. According to police, two men were initially booked for allegedly praising the Pakistani team after defeating India in the game. On November 2nd, an FIR was filed against her at a police station in Saharanpur.
“We received a complaint against two people who shared pro-Pakistani content via their WhatsApp status after the game. One of the defendants was arrested while the other is currently on the run, ”said Mohd Rizwan, district officer.
The FIR was established under Section 66 of the IT Act and Section 295 (Soiling of Places of Worship) of the IPC, police said. The two defendants, in their mid-twenties, run a watch shop.
