JAKARTA – How to Hide WhatsApp Chats permanently can be done directly in the application without the need to block contacts. You can hide chats thanks to the recently updated Archive Chats feature.
Indeed, before, WhatsApp already had an archive chat feature but it couldn’t be done permanently. Those archived chats will reappear when you get a message from that contact. So if you want to archive chats permanently, you have to block the contact.
Now after updating, users can hide chats permanently without having to block contacts. Quoted from the WhatsApp Twitter account, with this new feature users can manage private messages and archive them so that they cannot be read by others.

“Archive at WhatsApp lets you organize private messages and prioritize important conversations. Your Archived Chats will now remain archived and muted, but you can always change them back!” wrote the Twitter account @WhatsApp.
Here’s how to permanently hide WhatsApp chats without blocking contacts:
1. Before hiding chats, make sure you have updated the WhatsApp application.
2. If you have, open WhatsApp through your smartphone and search for the chat you want to hide.
3. Press the message you want to hide until a new menu appears at the top of the screen.
