Siegburg: Christmas market without a mask requirement | Kölnische Rundschau

Siegburg –

There will be no mask requirement at the medieval Christmas market in Siegburg. City spokesman Jan Gerull said that on request. For the market, which is now taking place again after a pandemic-related break last year, the organizer, Mittelalter Marketing GmbH, has nevertheless made a recommendation.

There will be a sign on the stands asking visitors to wear mouth and nose protection. The stand operators who have direct customer contact will also wear a medical or FFP-2 mask themselves, unless they are separated from the customers by Plexiglas panes. There will also be disinfectant dispensers.

2G, admission controls and disinfectants

In the market that opens on Saturday morning, 2G applies. There will be multiple entry points in a cordon where certificates of recovery or vaccination will be checked. If they are not vaccinated, adolescents from the age of twelve must present a negative rapid test that is not older than 24 hours; there is no restriction for children under children under the age of twelve, as they are tested regularly in school and daycare.

For the booth town, whose stands are smaller and which were set up more airily without the middle strand, daily maximum occupancy of 2500 people applies, according to Gerull: “But of course they are not all there at the same time.” There is no stage to avoid crowds instead, the artists play around the market.

The market opens daily until December 22nd

The medieval market runs until December 22nd and is open Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The exception is Dead Sunday (November 21), when the market only opens from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (seb)
