A powerful one polar front will begin to sweep with blizzards and snow in the central and eastern US from Sunday night, affecting millions of people, mainly those who plan to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 25.
A report from the Telemundo network details that “The cold air mass can reach Minneapolis on Sunday night, Chicago on Monday morning, Pittsburgh on Monday afternoon, Washington DC on Monday night and Boston on Tuesday morning.”
The US National Weather Service warned that it is still impossible to estimate snowfall and wind speeds.
The weather will mean uncertainty for 53.4 million people are expected to travel for the holiday: 48.3 million will travel by car and 4.2 million by plane, according to figures from the American Automobile Association.
Forecasters estimate that the cold front will plummet temperatures in the central and eastern US with drops of -9 degrees Celsius to -6 degrees Celsius.
