Marc Coucke has invested in Sono Motors, a German start-up of electric cars with solar panels. The entrepreneur has been involved with the company for two years, but that has remained under the radar until now.

The company announced on Wednesday that it is going public, a statement that Marc Coucke also shared on his own social media channels. That was the first time, because according to De Tijd, the entrepreneur has been on board with Sono Motors for two years.
Sono’s first model, the Sion, should hit the market in 2024. It is a rather small passenger car that can be charged via the electricity grid as well as via solar panels integrated in the bodywork. Inside, a natural filter of Iceland moss regulates the humidity.
Coucke recently invested in electric vehicles. In October it was announced that he had bought 1.3 million shares in Ebusco, the Dutch producer of electric buses. Converted an investment of about 30 million euros. Other sustainable companies are also finding their way to Coucke. He has already invested in a company that makes water purifiers and in one of the largest fruit and vegetable companies in our country.
