A fire broke out on Radarstraat in Capelle aan den IJssel on Thursday evening. A storage area of Felyx, a supplier of electric scooter sharing, caught fire around 9 p.m.

The fire brigade has reached the building with several vehicles. The flames have spread to the roof and the fire has now also spread to surrounding buildings. Explosions could even be seen and heard; many batteries are stored and charged in the building. In addition, there is a lot of smoke development around Krimpen aan den IJssel. Police cars are driving around in the neighboring neighborhood, calling for windows and doors to be closed and ventilation systems turned off.
There are many car dealers in the Radarstraat. According to eyewitnesses, several owners of the companies are currently trying to get their vehicles out. This is not the first time that the building has been engulfed in flames: on October 28 last year there was also a fire.
The entire Felyx building has already gone up in flames. The fire started in a battery cabinet on the top floor. The fire spread to neighboring properties. It is suspected that the entire block will burn up. An NL-alert has already been sent in Krimpen aan den IJssel.
